Parents can enrol their child at any time of the year.
An enrolment pack is available at the school office, or on our school website by clicking here --> Student enrolment application form
There's two (2) ways to complete the enrolment form:
- Download and print the form or get one from the office and fill it in by hand. Drop it into the office personally or scan and email it back to us.
- Download the form and type responses in on a desktop or laptop. To sign, you can add your signature digitally, or print the form, sign it and return it to the school office.
Please call us if you require asistance to complete the form or if translation support is required.
If you're undecided or if you'd just like to come and have a look around, you are more than welcome to visit us. Give our office a call for a ‘meet-and-greet’ and a tour prior to enrolling.
Our Parent Information Guide 2024-2025 contains some great information about our school's values, culture and priorities. If there's anything else you need to know then give our office a call.
QParents and QKR
When enrolling your child, we will ask you to sign-up for QParents and QKR. Our admin staff will help you work through setting up both.
QParents is an App on you phone that make it quick and easy to provide consent for excursions, see and pay invoices, download your child's Report Cards, and check on their behaviour records, among other things. Click HERE and you will be taken to a page with more information and FAQs.
QKR is another App that makes it super-easy to make payments for everything at school. This includes excursions, learning resources, our weekly Pie Day and the ever popular Treat Day each term.
Medical conditions or learning concerns
Please let us know if your child has any medical conditions or disabilities that may require us to support your child at school, or any known or suspected learning difficulties. From our point of view, the more information we have about your child, the better we can target the RIGHT type of support to help them flourish. Please bring along any relevant reports or information when you visit to enrol your child.
Prep enrolments
Parents wishing to enrol their child into Prep for the following year are to complete the enrolment form and make an appointment with the Principal and the Prep teacher. At this meeting it is essential for your child to attend as this will give us an opportunity to meet your child and gather initial information to allow us to ensure they make a smooth transition to Prep. You will need to bring a birth certificate that we need to sight (we don’t keep a copy). Children entering Prep should turn 5 years of age by June 30th in the year they commence.
The decision about when a child enrols in Prep is extremely important and should be made in the child's best educational interests to enable a positive and successful start to school.
Approval for an early or late entry to Prep is not automatic and is made at the principal’s discretion after discussions with parents and considering all available information. For more information contact the school or click this link --> Prep enrolments.
The enrolment process.
- Complete the enrolment form.
- Call or email to make an appointment with our principal for a pre-enrolment meeting. At this meeting we get to meet you and your children (yes please bring them along!) in a relaxed environment and start to discuss the needs of your child/children. We will use this information to start planning for how we can best address the needs of your child/children at school.
- There will be some other forms for you to complete and we will explain these to you at this meeting.
Help is available if you need any
If you require assistance to complete the enrolment forms then please let us know. We're only too happy to help.
For First Nations Families we have staff with lived cultural knowledge and experience to support your through the enrolment and settling in process.
For families whose first language is not English, we have access to translation services and support for parents from non-English speaking backgrounds.
What we need you to bring when enrolling your child:
- Birth certificate if enrolling your child in Prep
- Any documents relating to medical diagnoses or learning disabilities, and any professional medical or allied health support that your child is receiving – this will help to inform our ability to specifically target appropriate support provisions for your child.
- Recent report cards if you are moving from interstate or from the private or Catholic education systems. This is not necessary if you are transferring from another Qld state school.
- Documents relating to any court orders such as parenting consent orders/plans, custody orders, protection orders, etc.
With the exception of birth certificates, which we are only required to sight, we will ask to take copies of all other documents for our secure records.
